The wait is over — the countdown has officially ended! The official game trailer is here!
My name is Ali Abbasi, and I'm the founder of Overborne Games. It is an independent publishing company, and for now, I am its sole developer.
Overborne. The name originates from "airborne," but it stood out for its uniqueness and, more importantly, for what it represents.
To me, "Overborne" feels like a step beyond simply being airborne. It suggests going further, rising higher, and pushing past limits. This perfectly reflects the identity I wanted for the company: independent, elevated, and unbound by convention.
As a solo developer and the company's sole proprietor, I created Overborne Games to publish my work with complete creative freedom.
I am dedicated to making great games and treating player feedback as an essential guide for improvement.
One flagship title will receive my dedicated live support, you can probably guess which one. My other releases will be shorter experiences or standard-length games, updated with patches as needed.
In the future, I may expand into a small team to provide live support for more titles that would benefit from it.
Afrage will be launching on Steam soon. The game is currently in the Steam approval process.
Development on Afrage began in 2024, with a target release date set for 2026. It is a first-person platformer currently in development, focusing on puzzle-solving and campaign progression.
The game was born from a simple observation: there are few first-person platformers on the market. It is also directly inspired by the classic Super Mario Bros.
So far, so good but I'm always happy to get more feedback. You can join our Discord server, where a tiny, great community is growing.
Born in Pakistan on November 17, 2006, my childhood dream was to join the air force. As time passed, that dream evolved; by 2012, I aspired to produce 3D films, but I soon realized the required budget was beyond my reach.
I turned to making my own games instead, driven by a deep love for playing them. I began my game development journey in 2016, starting with the Unity engine. Learning this new skill was incredibly fun. I created numerous projects, watched countless tutorials, and completed many courses.
After four years with Unity, I decided to explore other engines. I experimented with Godot 2, Unreal Engine 4, and CryEngine. In the end, I favored Unreal Engine for most projects and Godot for 2D games.
I have been using Unreal Engine consistently from 2020 to the present (2026). My current project, Afrage, is also built with Unreal.
While I've lost some old projects over the years, I was fortunate to recover many of them. I plan to continue developing these recovered projects once my current work on Afrage is complete.
